Roughing It.

I'm not going to sugar coat it. I'm not a big camping person. I love hiking. I love being outdoors. I love the beach, the lake, watersports, nature trails, sightseeing... But I'd call myself more of a "Glamping" girl when it's time to turn in. There's just something about sleeping out there inside a flimsy nylon tent in the wide-open that freaks me out a little. The strange noises. Critters. Things that slither. Things that eat things that slither... Yeesh.

Anyhoo... my sweet husband treated me to a surprise overnight camping trip this weekend. He knows how spoiled rotten I am. He should. He's the one that spoiled me. Nevertheless, he decided we needed a short little getaway and took care of all the details. Basically, all I needed to pack was a toothbrush. 

I tried to hide my trepidation as we drove out to the site. When we arrived at this picture perfect spot by the lake, I was amazed he already had everything set up! He even put a super comfy air mattress in the tent under this amazing, giant sleeping bag for two. There was nothing fancy or frufru about the setup. Just the basics for an overnight. But let me tell you this - it was AMAZING. I felt so safe with his arms wrapped around me as we drifted off to sleep and slept more peacefully than I had in weeks.

Besides - he was the one sleeping by the door, so stuff would get him first.

I took a bazillion pictures during our fun, less-than 24 hour stay, but this one taken at sunset is my favorite. You can almost feel how warm and dry the air is and almost hear the birds and wild horses living their best life around that clean, crystal blue lake.

I wouldn't mind doing that again maybe. But don't tell him that. I'm not sure I'm ready to give up those weekends he plans that involve balcony views and room service.

Never Leave Home Without It.

I was thinking about the things I always have to have on. Things that, once I've realized I've forgotten, make me feel "naked" and not fully dressed until I put them on. Some of these items stay the same (like my gorgeous wedding ring),and some change with the season or when I find something new to take their place. Currently, it seems I can't leave home without:

• My crown. It's weird. You see, my husband recently changed my title in our group to "Queen Surf Monkey" (he's the original Surf Monkey) without mentioning it to me. When I noticed the new title, I IMMEDIATELY went out and found a cute crown as a joke to see if he noticed. He did and he LOVED it. So much so, when I wasn't wearing it the next day, he asked where it was and told me I should wear it all the time. Well ya' don't have to ask ME twice to wear a crown! I was all over it. It reminds me how much he loves me, how much he spoils me and how he makes me feel every day.

• Mesh ears. As you might be able to tell from this and my other pics, I LOVE jewelry. When they started making the gorgeous mesh ears loaded with TONS of earring options, it was just another way to load myself down with MORE sparkly stuff!

• My Gaury palm cuff. I can't explain it. I'm obsessed. 

• At least ONE of my bazillion circle necklaces. In this picture, I'm wearing one of my favorites from Cae. Usually, I like stacking and layering my necklaces. I have this weird obsession with circle jewelry and I guess circles in general. I don't love stars, moons, hearts or any of those popular motifs. Just circles for me, please. And the occasional triangle when I'm wearing something "edgy". :P

• Something in my hand. Preferably in both hands. It's only in the last year or so that I feel like walking around without a handbag or a latte or some other cute thing just feels weird. You know what they say about "idle hands", right?

I'm not sure if I'm having more fun setting up our new pool at "Casa de Toshi" or playing with the box it came in. 

You know those kids at Christmas who play with the boxes more than the toys they get? Yeah. That was me. 

Well, until Barbies came along. 

This pool from Bad Unicorn is SO stinkin' perfect. I can't wait to show you guys some pics of how well it integrates into the "vibe" of our new home! If all goes as well, we plan to be all done with the new sim and new home stuff end of October. Can't wait to invite you all to our open house party when it's all good to go! Knowing how Halloween is Syx's FAVORITE holiday, I'm betting it will have some sort of spooky theme. ಠﭛಠ

 Welp...there won't be ANY sort of get-together if I don't get back to work over there.

Syx and I love working together on projects around our sims. This outdoor hot tub and shower addition to our master bathroom has got to be one of my FAVORITE builds we've ever done. We found an pic of one we loved and just went for it. 

It turned out better than the pic example, actually. 

I'm a HUGE fan of mood lighting and when you go out here at night and let the warm, dim light gently illuminate the plants and smooth rocks and water and nakie parts and... holy cow... 

H E A V E N .

The romantic atmosphere does not, however, prevent me from killing the mood every now and then with a random outburst of absurd thoughts I have while my sweet husband tries in vain to get me to relax and be quiet and just BE in the moment. 

Poor fella. He just wanted to chill. He puts up with a lot. <3
